Methodology
Two national (UK and US) quantitative surveys were utilized to determine the views and sentiments of Gen Z participants on the relevant trends and topics. We surveyed a nationally representative sample of age, gender, and location of 2,000 young people in the UK and US.
The surveys were scripted, hosted, and analyzed on a digital survey platform, with a statistical analysis of the high-level data conducted by the researcher.
Additional research was conducted via Google Search trends, social media listening, and Pinterest trends.
About the authors
Alexandra joined Pion in 2022, working along the content lifecycle to forecast trends, insights and strategy. She brings lived experience to writing about the behavior of her generation and helps brands understand the cultural nuances that define it.
As the author of Pion’s influential Youth Trends Report for the past two years, Alexandra has forecasted the major trends shaping youth culture, working closely with industry experts, researchers, and creatives to bring these insights to life. Alexandra has delivered keynote talks for Pion in both New York and London, regularly appears on panels with marketing leaders, and has been a guest speaker at events for UNICEF, JCDecaux, IPM and TTG Media. She sits on the Expert Advisory Board for Fumble, a leading sexual health charity, and previously volunteered with Zero Gravity, a charity helping state-educated students gain places at top universities.
Outside of work, she can be found drinking her body weight in Diet Coke and getting irrationally invested in reality TV.
Izzy Hall is a skilled content strategist and Gen Z specialist based in Manchester. As a Senior Content Executive at Pion, Izzy leverages her expertise in generational marketing to create and refine content across diverse channels, delivering impactful stories that resonate with youth marketing audiences.
A confident and engaging speaker, Izzy has represented Pion on various stages, including Pion’s YMS LDN event. She frequently hosts and participates in panels and podcasts, where she interviews prominent figures in the marketing industry. Her work predominantly explores Gen Z trends, pop culture, influencer marketing, campaign optimization, and accessible marketing practices.
Passionate about DE&I, Izzy works to ensure that all content and ways of working adhere to diversity and inclusivity guidelines. She is also a social media volunteer for STAMMA, the national UK charity for people who stammer and their allies.
Outside of work, Izzy enjoys running, eating pastries, and listening to too much Kate Bush.
